The 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings were released on 27 April 2022. This is the fourth year that THE has produced these global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), using calibrated indicators for comparison across the four broad areas of research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
Participating for the first time in 2022 edition, University of Crete (UoC) is ranked overall 401-600 out of 1,524 universities from 110 countries and regions. University of Crete, together with the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, heads the list of the 11 Greek Universities included in the 2022 ranking. The UoC participated in the ranking of university contributions to 10 of the 17 SDGs with the following results:

The UoC is particularly proud of the efforts of staff and students in their best practice contributions to SDG4 Quality Education, with UoC recognized as being among the top 100 institutions globally.
