The Red Sea Project conference series is an international forum for interdisciplinary research focused on the Red Sea as a diachronic geohistorical unit.

Since 2002, Red Sea Project conferences have been hosted by institutions of higher education and research across Europe and once in the Middle East, with support from several organizations, including the Foundation for the Study of Arabia, the British Museum, the European Research Council and participating universities and cultural heritage authorities.

The tenth conference in the Red Sea Project series will be hosted by the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas) and the University of Crete in collaboration with Emory University, and will take place 6-9th July 2022  in the city of Rethymno.
